The Gambia has named a new permanent representative to the United Nations, reliable sources have told The Point.
David Darol Tormey, a Gambian who has worked with the United Nations system for the past 30 years, will replace Susan Wafa-Ogoo, who was early this month, appointed as the new Minister of Foreign Affairs, sources said.
The Point has also reliably learnt that Yankuba Touray, former Fisheries and Water Resources Minister, who once served as the ruling APRC party national mobiliser, is now Gambia’s new ambassador to Venezuela.
Cherno Bara Touray, who once served as Gambia’s ambassador to Guinea Bissau, is now the country’s new High Commissioner to Sierra Leone, reliable sources have also told this paper.
