The Gambia national U17 team will take on their Senegalese counterparts in an international friendly match at the Independence Stadium on Sunday in preparation for the final rounds of the African U17 qualifying campaign in which both teams are taking part.
Seedy M.B. Kinteh, president of the Gambia Football Association (GFA), who was in Dakar to finalise the friendly, has confirmed to Pointsport that an arrangement has been reached for a possible friendly with the Junior Lions of Senegal in Banjul this weekend.
The Senegalese team is expected to arrive in Banjul on Saturday for Sunday’s match and will return home immediately after the game.
The Baby Scorpions plan to use the friendly to select players that will feature in their first leg clash against Tunisia at the weekend of 5th,6th or 7th November this year in Tunis.
The young Lions, on the other hand, will travel to Accra, Ghana, to rub shoulders with the Black Starlets in the final round matches of the qualifiers en route to Rwanda 2011.
