The final of the Badinyaa Sports Committee annual intermediate football tournament is slated for 9 June 2012, at the Gunjur Upper Basic School football field.
The most awaited final, described by many football fans in the village as a cracker, will feature Young Solifo Investment FC and Young Santos United FC.
The two clubs are the most consistent teams in the tournament who remain unbeaten.
Young Solifo Investment won last year’s intermediate tournament title following their post-match penalty shootout win over Young Commit FC, after a 1-1 draw in the regulation time.
They will be hoping for a win to clinch the trophy and also retain their year’s crown, while Young Santos United on the other hand will also be expecting a victory to lift the trophy.
Young Solifo Investment advanced to the final after a 1-0 win over Black Panthers in the semi-final courtesy of Saikou Touray strike in the 60th minute of the game.
Young Santos United booked their ticket to the final after beating FC Barcelona on the same score-line in the other semi-final game, while Young Santos United’s lone goal was scored by Edu Jatta in the dying minute of the game.
