According to news emanating from the Gunjur Athletics Association secretariat in Gunjur, the the Gambia Athletics Association, GAA, has decided that the competition will be staged before Ramadan, and is meant to foster unity and understanding among the athletes, as well as promote athletics in the country.
The GAA further said it has started preparations for the championship, and is hoping for a successful inter-towns athletics championship. It seized the opportunity to call on athletes in Gunjur who want to participate in the championship to join the training session at the Gunjur Nyamina football field daily.
The GAA is also inviting its members to a general meeting set for today, Thursday 16 April 2015, at Fa-Kemo Gibba’s competition at 5pm, where important matters will be discussed regarding the proposedinter-towns athletics championship set for later this year in Gunjur.
