Bakau Nawettan which is undeniably one of the most popular Nawettan centres in the country continued to produce some wonderful games as the summer championships is already one week old, with a lot of fascinating and mouth-watering encounters.

There was joy for most of the teams but disappointment for others.

Linguere started the defence of the title with a disappointing 3-2 defeat to Vidar on Wednesday.

The recently crowned super cup champions were many peope's favourite, but Vidar proved all doubters wrong as they entertained the last year's league champions to a hard fought 3-2 win to collect their first 2 points of the Nawettan.

Kekuta Manneh scored two magnificent goals, one in each half to give Vidar all the vital 3 points before team mate Ebrima Manneh extended the lead to confirm his side's win of the championship.

Linguere got numerous opportunities that could give them the lead through Sheriff Hydara and Muhammed Bah, but their efforts could not pay dividend.

Captain BaYankuba Jammeh scored two spectacular free-kicks but that only proved to be consolation for the super cup champions.

The Head Coach of the team Dawda Ceesay, alias Soto remained confident that Linguere will recover from their poor start of the championship.

Milan that enjoyed a fantastic qualifying round were beaten 1-0 by Saul Samba last Thursday to snatch all the needed points against Coach Badu Conateh, and his determined Milan side that failed to capitalise on their numerous scoring chances.

Ron-Mango also entertained Bremen Africell to a 1-nil win, courtesy of Alieu Jarra (Telly's) only goal from a spot kick.

Satursday's game has also witnessed another mouth-watering encounter when Sea View defeated Luniburg 1-0 at the Bakau Mini-Stadium with Samsideen Badjie.

Despite showing a brilliant performance, Luniburg could not manage a single goal.

At the time of filing this report, Five-Junction were locking horns with Vietnam Border that is vowed to end their disappointing display in Bakau Nawettan, which saw them relegated from the summer championship a few years ago.
