Alleged burglar arraigned

A man called Modou L. Jallow was recently arraigned at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court, charged with housebreaking and stealing.

He denied the charges and was granted court bail of D20,000 with two Gambian sureties who must swear to an affidavit of means and deposit valid ID cards.

The particulars of offence on count one read that on 17 June 2012, at Farato Village, the accused, Modou L. Jallow, broke into the house of one Binta Cham with intent to steal.

Count two stated that on the same date and place, he entered into the said house and stole a Nokia dual Sim card phone valued at D2,500.

The case was adjourned till 11 July 2012.
