The ongoing trial against Foday Jallow and Ebrima Jallow recently failed to proceed at the Kanifing Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Ngube.

It would be recalled that the accused were alleged to have obtained money by false pretence, contrary to the laws of The Gambia, a charge they had denied.

When the case was called up, Police Prosecutor Chief Inspector Darboe informed the court that the witness he intended to call was out of the jurisdiction of the court.

He applied to the court for an adjournment and his application was subsequently granted.

Trial was adjourned till 15 May 2012.

According to the charge sheet, the accused persons, at Serrekunda and diverse places in The Gambia, by false pretence and with intent to defraud, sold 250g fake gold dust to one Amin Saltan Zalid to the tune of 3 million CFA, equivalent to D186, 000.
