WOMEN TURNED KING SOLOMON'S HEART FROM GOD

One thing God warned the Children of Israel against as they gradually conquered enemy territory to finally possess the Promised Land was "....and when the Lord your God has delivered them over to you and you have defeated them, then you must destroy them totally. Make no treaty with them and show them no mercy. Do not intermarry with them.  Do not give your daughters to their sons or take their daughters for your sons, for they will turn your sons away from following me to serve other gods, and the Lord's anger will burn against you and will quickly destroy you." ( Deut. 7:2-4)

King Solomon did not heed this warning, instead "Solomon held fast to them in love. He had 700 wives of royal birth and 300 concubines, and his wives led him astray." (1 Kings 11:2-3)

The Lord who knows tomorrow today, had given early warning signals to limit the damage; but king Solomon, llke us, never listened. He followed the desires of the flesh.

"As Solomon grew old, his wives turned his heart after other gods, and his heart was not fully devoted to the Lord his God, as the heart of David his father had been." (v4)

King Solomon built pagan altars for his foreign wives, who burned incense and offered sacrifices to their gods. (vv 7-8) - as prophesied.

What is it that God has warned you against that you have not given heed to? Depart from evil and do good! Every step we take that is contrary to God's word has its negative repercussions on us.

In the end, King Solomon reasoned and qualified all of his deeds as VANITY - meaningless, not worth it!

May heaven help us in these end times!
