Our right standing with God puts us in a privileged position such that when we call (pray), He answers us. "Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know." (Jer. 32:3)
Who is at fault? "Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor His ear to dull to hear. But your iniquities (sins) have separated you from your God. Your sins have hidden His face from you so that He will not hear." (Isa. 59:1)
What is standing in our way? What is preventing us from nurturing a healthy relationship with our God? For prophet Isaiah, it was the entourage of King Uzziah in which he basked. Not until the king died - not until this 'obstacle' got out of the prophet's way - were his eyes opened. And he saw the Lord in all His glory in the temple. (Read the account in Isaiah 6)
"Woe is me, I am ruined!" He admitted his inadequacies and God cleansed him of his sin - his ungodly tongue. Then God used him mightily. God can do the same operation on us as well, if we are willing to forgo that bad habit, that addiction, put that gossip mill to death and be cleansed for God's use?
Think about it! Take it to the Lord in prayer!
