“HOW HARD IS YOUR 'GROANING'?

Feb 4, 2026, 1:57 PM

The enslavement of the Children of Israel in Egypt was as a result of a prophecy made to Abraham by God Himself.  "Know for certain that your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own, and they will be enslaved and mistreated 400 years. BUT I will punish the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward they will come out wih great possessions." (Gen. 15:13)

Ultimately, their sojourn in Egypt endured 430 years. If they had not prayed, it could have been extended. "The Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out, and their cry for help because of their slavery went to God. God heard their groaning and remembered His covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob." (Exodus 2:×3-25)

What kind of 'slavery' have you been struggling under for such a considerable length of time - that you have been comfortable with it? It is time to quit!

Like was the case of the Children  of Israel you have to groan much harder.

As prophesied, they did not leave Egypt empty-handed. "The Lord had made the Egyptians favourably disposed toward the people, and they gave them what they asked for; so they plundered the Egyptians." (Ex.12:36)

Cry to the Lord that the days of your 'slavery' will be over with. There is a handsome reward awaiting you. "Instead of their shame my people will receive double for their trouble". (Isa. 61:7)
