Scorpions embrace maiden training session as Comoros clash looms

The Gambia senior national team yesterday, Monday, 2nd September 2024 held their first training session, as their 2025 Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations qualifier match against Comoros Islands edges closer.

The Scorpions will use the upcoming days to improve on their weaknesses ahead of their continent’s biennial biggest football fiesta qualifier opening match against Comoros Islands on 4th September 2024 at the Stade Abdi at 3pm.

The Gambia will be enthusiastic to grab the maximum points from Comoros Islands to put their 2025 Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations qualification on track.

The Scorpions, who qualified for the Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations back to back in 2021 and 2023 respectively, will fight hard to beat Comoros Islands to bolster their chances of qualifying for the 2025 Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted in Morocco.

 The Gambia occupy second-place from bottom in Group F of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers with 3 points after four group outings.

The Scorpions slipped to Burundi 3-2 and Ivory Coast 2-0 in their two opening qualifier matches played in November 2023 before hammering Seychelles 5-1 in their third qualifier group match played in June 2024.

The Gambia lost to Gabon 3-2 in their fourth qualifier group match played in June 2024.
