Team Spurs suffer surprise defeat in Sukuta nawettan

Defending League champions, Team Spurs have suffered surprise defeat in the on-going Sukuta ‘nawettan’ after slipping to Sonada 2-0 in their second Group A match played at the Dembadou Mini Stadium over the weekend.

Sonada FC produced one of the biggest surprise in this year’s Sukuta nawettan after scoring two goals without last year’s league trophy winners reacting to clasp the vital three points.

Addy Darboe opened the scores for Sonada FC in the 5th minute of the match.

Yankuba Sanyang doubled Sonada FC’s lead in the 80+3 minute of the match.

Team Spurs secured 3 points in two group matches, while Sonada FC now sit top-spot in Group A with 4 points after two group matches.

Chuma FC and Berefet United played a barren goalless draw in their second Group A match.

Both teams came into the match with the aim of collecting the maximum points but the match failed to produce a winner.

Chuma FC lost to Team Spurs in their opening match, while Berefet United drew with Sonada FC in their first group match.

SYFA former, Sea View FC drew 1-1 with debutant Jamourai in their second group fixture.

Musa Drammeh gave SYFA the lead in the 35th minute of the match from a remarkable finish.

 Ebrima A. Jaiteh equalised for Jamourai in the stoppage time.

Sukuta Bani Israel (SBI) played a barren goalless draw against Nema-Su United.

Both teams came into the match with the intention of beating each other to improve their positions in the Sukuta nawettan.

Sukuta Bani Israel (SBI) and Nema-Su United both won their opening group matches against Karaba United and Senior Players respectively.

Sukuta Bani Israel (SBI) and Nema-Su United both sit top-spot in Group C with 4 points each.
