The first half of the well contended game ended goalless until the 65th minute of second half of the game, when Golden’s Jerre Marong net the winning goal of the match to earn his side a place in the next stage of the 2024 Kunkujang nawettan.
The team has now gone on top in Group C with four points. They will now meet Miami FC Sunday 3rd November 2024 for the last game at group phase with 20 teams competing in the tournament.
Head coach of Golden FC, Yusupha Bah alias Sallah Benz, expressed delight over his boys’ performance, stating that his ambition as at now is to secure a place in the next round of the nawettan.
“We came into the match with different style of play and the game approach to defeat our opponent and to advance to the next round of the Kunkujang nawettan,” he said.
‘‘We have new players and this is their first season and were able to create goal scoring chances to earn our first win since we started this year’s nawettan.”
“Now we are focusing on the next phase because that’s a much more difficult stage. We will prepare for the games ahead by continuously working harder and train well,” Coach Sallah Benz concluded.
