The Coastal boys defeated the Bakau based-team 1-0 in their week-15 match played at the Late Ousman Saho Football Field in Old Yundum on Tuesday to bounce back in the country’s Second Tier.
Gunjur United were beaten in their previous three league outings before clashing with BK Milan.
The Coastal Town Boys made an astonishing start to the match and crafted many goal scoring opportunities.
Gunjur United opened the scoring through Captain Salifu Bojang alias Bapa in the 8th minute of the match from a spectacular volley, which eventually proved to be the winner for the Coastal Town Boys.
BK Milan reacted quickly for an equaliser and created some goal scoring opportunities but were unable to unlock Gunjur United’s formidable defence line thus the match ended 1-0 in favour of Gunjur United.
The win earns Gunjur United 9th place on the country’s Second Tier table with 18 points.
BK Milan still sit top-spot on the Second Division League table with 26 points after 15 league matches.
It could be recalled that BK Milan defeated Gunjur United 1-0 in the second round of the 2022-2023 Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Division Two League season.
