Group A featured Mauritania, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia and Mali.
Eight of the nine WAFU Zone A member nations participated in Cape Verde showcased talents and competitive spirit.
The Queen Scorpions will look to build on their recent successes with experience and determination as they face top teams in the sub-regional football tournament.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals of the tournament.

Speaking to The Point Sports, head coach of The Gambia Women’s National Team, Mariama Bom Sowe, stated that her team started training three weeks ago at the National Technical Training Centre in old Yundum with twenty-six (26) players.
Bom Sowe revealed that she would travel to Mauritania with twenty (20) players for the 2025 WAFU Zone A Women’s football championship.
The Gambia Women’s National Team will leave Banjul for Nouakchott, Mauritania, on Friday 16 May 2025 ahead of the commencement of the sub-regional women’s football championship.
