Berewuleng, Red Scorpion earn second wins in Women’s League One

Brikama-based club, Berewuleng and Red Scorpion over the weekend earned victories in the 2023 Gambia Football Federation Women’s Division One League.

Berewuleng thrashed Abuko United 3-0 in their week-two league match played at the Box Bar Mini Stadium in Brikama.

Teddy Sireh Jatta scored a brace in the 3th and 79th minutes while Ellen Gomez sealed the victory in 83rd minute to earn the Brikama-based team the three points.

Red Scorpions defeated the Gambia Police Force 1-0 during a match played at Late Ousman Saho Football Field in Old Yundum.

Ola Buwaro scored the only goal of the game for Red Scorpions in the 55th minute.

Debutants, Raptim thumped City Girls 2-1at the Box Bar Mini Stadium in Brikama on Friday.

Kaddijatou Jallow netted a brace in the 79th and 83rd minutes for Raptim, while Captain Ellen Gai scored for the Banjul based club in the 58th minute.

On the same day, the Gambia Armed Forces drew 1-1 against Jeshwang United during a game played at the Bakau Mini Stadium.

Assanatou Badjie opened the scoring for Jeshwang United in 46th minute before Binta Ceesay leveled matters two minutes later for the Gambia Armed Forces.

In the Second Tier, Brikama United dismantled Kuteh Jumbulu 8-0.

Naffisatou Ndiaye, Nancy Silva and Fatou Tamba registered each a brace while Binta Jarju and Astou Darboe adding their names on the score sheet for Brikama United.

Yakarr thrashed Mansa Wally 3-0 during a game played at the Soma Mini Stadium on Saturday.

Joko Saho, Adel Mendy and Banna Jarju were on target for Yakarr in 12th, 60th and 86th minutes respectively.

Trust FC defeated Jung Mama 2-1 with Arokey Mendy and Mariama Sillah scoring for the Nema-based club while Nyima Sabally pulled one back for Jung Mama.

Greater Tomorrow hammered Immigration 5-1 during a game played at Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium at 3pm on Saturday.

Mesinda Mendy scored a hat-trick in the 2nd, 23rd and 70th minutes respectively.

Elizabeth Ndeckey’s 45th and Mariama Baldeh’s 63rd minute goals completed the scoring festival for Greater Tomorrow.

Isatou Fatty scored Immigration’s consolation goal in the 33rd minute.

Stone Circle walloped Kinteh’s 9-1 at the Jarra Soma Mini Stadium.

Prisons FC defeated Lower Nuimi 1-0 at the Late Ousman Saho Football Field in Old Yundum.
