Saidy tragically passed away on Friday 21st August 2026 after collapsing on the pitch while participating in a football match in Casamance.
A talented and dependable left-back, Saidy was an integral part of Sibanor United’s campaign in the just-concluded GFF Second Division League.
His commitment, work rate, and sportsmanship on and off the pitch earned him immense respect from teammates, opponents and fans alike.
On behalf of the President, Executive Committee, and the entire Gambian football family, the GFF extends its heartfelt condolences to the management, technical staff, players and supporters of Sibanor United, as well as Modou's bereaved family and friends.
We pray that the Almighty Allah grants his soul eternal peace and grants his family and loved ones the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
