Founder of Yakarr Football Academy and chairperson of Kombo South Academy Association, Adama Jarju, has unveiled her manifesto, as Women's Football Association (WFA) Elective Congress edges closer.

WFA Elective Congress is set for May 10 2025 at the Football Hotel in Old Yundum.

Tahawal Women's Football presidential aspirant Adama Jarju is optimistic of beating incumbent Sainabou Cham to steer the affairs of women’s football in The Gambia.
Jarju stated that her leadership would encourage transparency, accountability and stakeholder representation.

She revealed that stakeholders were left in dark and also excluded from critical decision making for the past eight years.

‘‘I know the difference between governance and match commissioning. We would not confuse administrative duties with the core responsibility of leading with vision and integrity,’’ Jarju said.

She revealed that women’s football admirers in The Gambia are crying for change and also demanding for transparency, fairness and trust.

‘‘I recognize the challenges ahead. Transparency in decision-making, financial management and stakeholders inclusion would directly influence policies and programmes,’’ Jarju said.

Jarju revealed that her camp is committed to elevate Women’s football through visibility such as publicity and media coverage to gain sponsorship for the league.

‘‘Visibility is not a luxury but a necessity for the survival and success of Gambian league.”
She further revealed that her camp would prioritise publicity such as broadcast opportunities and storytelling about players, coaches and clubs.
Jarju lamented that her camp would actively engage local and national media outlets to cover league matches.

She further lamented social media, live streaming platforms, saying media channels would broadcast league matches live.

She added that her camp would work hand-in-hand with commercial partners to profile the league and attract new audiences for the league.

Jarju added that her camp would invest in documentaries for players and community-driven content to build emotional connections with fans.
