Super Star Entertainment Company is a Gambian owned company that aims to promote both local and international artistes with specific focus on Gambian artistes and youth in general.
It also helps to develop and give opportunity to Gambian artistes to show case their talents. One of the entertainment company’s ultimate objective is to create more employment opportunities for Gambians to scale down the youth unemployment rate.
Viviane Chidid is a Senegalese pop singer. Her music combines traditional Senegalese mbalaxmusic with elements of U.S. rap and R&B or Hip-Hop. She released her first album in 1999 and formed a group called Le Jolof Band in 2001.
Speaking to The Point in an interview,YassinJawo, Chief Executive Officer for Super Star Entertainment Company said: “We are inviting Viviane Chidid to The Gambia to have a show at Q-City. She will perform with Gambian young artistes. The show would be an opportunity for the Gambian artistes to showcase their talents.”
She said the company wants to work with both local and international artistes and added that Gambian artistes performing with internationalssuch as Vivianewill help to market Gambian young artiste globally.
The music promoter affirmed that on 21st May, the Senegalese artiste would have a show at Q-City and many Gambian artistes would performas well during the show.
According to CEO Jawo, among the artistes who would perform at the mega musical show are Nobles, Morr Wally, Abou and Fafa, T-Njie, Attack, Nyancho, Ousking, Guinean artistes in the Gambia, among other popular Gambians artists.
“Super Star is giving an opportunity to everyone to showcase his or her talents,” she noted.
Gala Dinner
Jawo said the mega Gala Dinner has been scheduled for 20th May 2022 at Pencha Mi Hall, Paradise Suites Hotel.
The Senegalese Mblax star will perform alongside Jaliba Kuyateh, Gambian king of the Kora and Jalinaya to entertain the audience in the extraordinary gala dinner.
Kids Show
Speaking further, she said Super Star will hold a kids show on 22rd May 2022 that would be characterised by musical dance and other forms of entertainment.
“The kids show is a family day outing where parents will come with their children just to enjoy the show. It would be very interesting and lively,” she said.
Therefore, Mrs Jawo called on all and sundry to attend the gala dinner, musical show and kids shows.
“The events are for Gambians and we are organising it just to promote artistes and promote our cultural heritage as well as to contribute to Gambia’s socio-economic growth,” the young music promoter said.
Jawo added: “Super Star Entertainment ultimate goal is ‘bring life to the party’ and also gives opportunity to youth in all aspects. “We have so many things coming on the way for talented Gambians such as those in music and movie industries.”
As Super Star intends to promote Gambia’s cultural heritage and contribute to nation-building, Mrs Jawo called on all and sundry to work collectively and partake in national development to ensure all attain their common goals.
“We are ready to support and empower all Gambian artistes and youth in general; thus, I call on all to grace the occasions at Pencha Mi Hall and Q-City respectively,” she said.
