The day’s event was meant to assess the progress made in 2022 as well as to chart a way forward towards a more progressive facility. It was also designed to honour and motivate deserving staff, who have worked tirelessly during the year under review, thereby serving as a motivating factor for others to do more.
Established in 1959 as a dispensary serving New Yundum and its satellite communities, the health facility in the recent past continues to attract growing satellite communities in its drive to deliver quality health care service
Welcoming the gathering, Ousman Bojang, alkalo of New Yundum, acknowledged the pivotal role the centre has been playing in the area, saying the health centre attracts people from New Yundum itself as well as Busumbala, Yarambamba and other catchment areas.
He stressed that since the inception of the facility, it has provided and continues to provide quality services to the people, further expressing their resolve to expand the centre into a fully-fledged centre operating 24 hours.
“Therefore, this event is important as it is designed to recognising deserving staff, while also encouraging others.”
Alhagie Sankareh, director Western One Health Region reiterated that data presentation regarding the provision of services rendered to these communities in 2022 is a significant move in broader strive to assess each individual health and the Ministry for the performance the health facility has offered to the patients that visit the facility for health care.
“Data if you would all understand, is a tool that drives decision making and also resource mapping for improved quality of health care services. When data is not accurately collected, analysed and presented, it makes decision making difficult for decision-makers and resource mapping becomes very difficult.”
He thus encouraged staff at the facility to ensure documentation of all patients that visit the facility for health care as ‘his or her details is recorded’, for the records that the Ministry rely on when making important decisions towards improving quality services in the country.
He thanked those recognised for their efforts and equally encouraged others to do more and work as a team to achieve meaningful results.
