The exercise was designed to ensure smooth usage of feeder routes and for easy accessibility by vehicles and women going to the market and health facilities.
The day’s exercise was supported by Alhagie K. Mbye, Commissioner of Customs at the Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA), who is also a resident of Kerr Serign.
Pa Matarr Loum, Alkalo of Kerr Serign, hailed the youth of the community for their active participation in the exercise.
Loum said that his priority is always to foster unity in the community, saying since assuming office as Alkalo, the community had undergone some rapid development.
He noted that there was a time politics nearly divided his community, but today the community is one of the most united communities in the country.
He thus called on people to be careful of tribalism and other negative vices that could hinder development.
He equally challenged youth to be engaged in productive activities and always be eager to acquire skills that would enable them earn a decent living.
Loum used the forum to highlight some ambitious plans he set out for the community, recalling that with the participation of youth they were able to allocate and fence a cemetery for the community.
