Jokkolabs Banjul is part of the Jokkolabs Global network, an independent non-profit organisation that promotes an open innovation ecosystem and social transformation through a community of entrepreneurs and a network of innovation centres.
The organisation’s engagement with EDUSA is therefore expected to create a platform through which education students can interact with professionals, entrepreneurs and other young innovators, while gaining exposure to new ideas and emerging technologies.
Speaking around the signing, representatives of both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to building a productive and sustainable partnership that would deliver meaningful benefits to education students.
They emphasised the importance of equipping young people with skills beyond the traditional classroom, particularly as technological advancement continues to transform the education and employment landscape.
The partnership comes at a time when universities and other educational institutions are increasingly recognising the need to prepare students not only for employment but also for entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership.
For education students, the initiative could provide opportunities to develop digital competencies and other transferable skills that can be applied both within and beyond the classroom.
EDUSA also expressed appreciation to the Director of Finance and Administration, Auntie Annette Sambou, and the management of Jokkolabs Banjul for their trust and willingness to collaborate in advancing youth empowerment and educational excellence.
The association said the partnership represents an important step towards expanding opportunities for education students and supporting their personal and professional development.
Both institutions are expected to work together in implementing activities under the MoU, with the broader objective of contributing to youth empowerment and national development.
