The Pan African Youth Leadership Foundation has once again recognised Gambian entrepreneur and thought leader David Jeng as one of the 100 Most Influential Young Africans, marking his second inclusion in the prestigious list in as many years.

Jeng, who serves as Director of Bliss Executives and Chapman Xpress Financial Services, previously received the same honour from the Foundation in 2024. His repeated recognition highlights his continued impact and dedication to innovation, intellectual property advocacy, and private sector-led development across Africa.

This year’s selection process saw nearly 5,000 nominations from 52 African countries. After a thorough review, the Foundation curated the final list under the banner “League of Exceptionals 2025,” which features an almost equal gender split 51% male and 49% female honourees, representing 26 nations. The increase in female representation compared to 2024 signals progress towards gender parity in continental leadership.

“It is an honour to introduce the ‘League of Exceptionals 2025’, a distinguished compilation of the 100 Most Influential Young Africans,” the Foundation stated. “This list celebrates outstanding entrepreneurs, activists, change-makers, and trailblazers who have demonstrated exceptional excellence in their respective fields.”

In response to the announcement, Mr Jeng expressed pride and gratitude, saying the accolade was a testament to his years of work in championing intellectual property rights and promoting youth empowerment initiatives.

“This recognition reflects years of dedication in advocating for innovation, protecting African creativity, and designing interventions that empower young minds across the continent,” he remarked. “I share this moment with all the exceptional change-makers whose drive, impact, and resilience are reshaping Africa’s future every day.”

He further encouraged African youth to persist in creating ventures and ideas that strengthen the continent’s socio-economic fabric.

“This award motivates me to continue working harder through entrepreneurship and innovation,” Jeng said. “Let us continue to build, lead, and inspire future generations for Africa’s collective advancement.”

He also stressed the critical role of Africa’s youth in realising the Africa 63 agenda, adding that meaningful change will be driven by young, forward-thinking leaders committed to progress and unity.

The League of Exceptionals 2025 award ceremony was held in Ghana, celebrating a new class of influencers determined to elevate Africa’s future across all sectors.
