Darboe made this plea during the launch of his homecoming award presentation and the premiere of his movie titled “Cruel Love” at the SDKJ Conference Hall over the weekend.
The young Gambian Nollywood actor stated that the local film industry can only thrive and achieve recognition when filmmakers unite to exchange ideas, resources, and expertise.

Working collaboratively as a united front is essential for creating high-quality films that captivate both local and international audiences.”
“By uniting our resources and expertise, The Gambia can establish a prominent presence in the African cinema scene. Filmmakers must stay committed and focus on creating compelling stories that highlight the vibrant culture and authentic experiences of the Gambian people.”
