The agreement, signed by RSDSA’s Administrative Secretary Njie Baldeh and APRI’s Executive Director Ambassador Fidelis Nnadi, is designed to foster closer collaboration, facilitate the sharing of best practices, and strengthen institutional capacity. It also aims to coordinate joint initiatives to address the high rates of road traffic accidents in both countries.
Speaking shortly after the signing, Baldeh expressed gratitude to APRI for partnering in efforts to reduce global road deaths and fatalities.
“This collaboration is very important, not only for the association but for The Gambia as a country. We need this type of partnership, as The Gambia ranked 8th in the global road accidents index,” Baldeh said.
He revealed that RSDSA was registered in 2018 with the Attorney General’s Chambers and has since worked with stakeholders to reduce road accidents nationwide.
Ambassador Nnadi welcomed the partnership, noting that it aligns with global demands for stronger cross-border collaboration in tackling road safety challenges.
“This collaboration conforms with global partnership demand,” Nnadi concluded.
