Sulayman M.S. Gagne, head of Information and Data Management at the Department, who also serves as focal point, made this disclosure recently during an interview with The Point.
“The department registered D10,781,000 in the first quarter of 2026 compared to D8,170,000 for the 2024 fiscal year,” Gagne said.
He attributed the unprecedented growth to aggressive staff restructuring and robust enforcement of forest resources management regulations.
The Department of Forestry is responsible for the sustainable management of the forest resources and coordinating the implementation of the forest policy which aim to transform the sector into a medium and long-term development framework.
