Chairman Sonko returns thanks and praises to people of WCR

The chairman of Brikama Area Council (BAC) has returned thanks and appreciation to the people of West Coast Region for the trust and confidence reposed in him in manning the affairs of the council for the past years.

Sherrifo Sonko was speaking  at a presser held at the BACouncil premises on Tuesday.

These past years, he added, had been occupied in the defence of truth and in the service of the people of West Coast Region, who voted in him into office.

“It is a great honour and privilege for me to have been elected into office as chairman of Brikama Area Council by the people of West Coast Region (WCR) in 2018.”

 “Most notably, I thank our dear leader, His Excellency Mr. Adama Barrow, President of the Republic of The Gambia and Commander-In-Chief of the Gambia Armed Forces for his patience, untiring support and guidance to me in all time in office.”

Chairman recalled that it was a long journey for him from the inception of Barrow Youth Movement to the birth of their great party, National People’s Party, a progressive people's movement party.

“In all my affiliation with the party and my time in BAC. I have sacrificed all and stuck my neck in defence of the truth and in the service of my people,” he said.

Chaiman Sonko thus expressed thanks and appreciation to his family for their ever-flowing care and love, especially in times that he felt  he needed patience and understanding.

“In the same spirit, I am very grateful to my colleague councillors and all the wonderful and hardworking staff of BAC. I am leaving with fantastic and very pleasant memories of the great times we shared together in the service of our people.” he added.

“I wish the people WCR, my people, Allah's blessing and guidance in their sacred choice for another committed chairman and body of councillors for the next political phase of the council. I will be around Insha’Allah, and I will make myself available for advice and support anytime it is required.” he said.
