Banjul families demand action after flash flood
The Member of the National Assembly for Banjul North Constituency, Hon. Modou Lamin B. Bah, has called for urgent and coordinated action to address recurring flooding in Banjul, following a near 24-hour flash flood that submerged homes, businesses, roads and walkways across parts of the capital city. Speaking in an interview with The Point newspaper, Hon. Bah described the August 5th flooding as the heaviest rainfall experienced in Banjul since 2022, warning that the situation could worsen if long-term solutions are not implemented. “Banjul experienced a near 24-hour flash flood, the heaviest rainfall we have seen since 2022,” he said.
