The delegation was led to State House by the Director General of the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) and Minister of Petroleum and Energy.
The delegation comprised the Minister of Petroleum and Energy of The Gambia, Minister of Energy of Guinea Bissau, Chairman of ERERA, Director General of PURA, Legal Expert of ERERA and Director of Petroleum, Water and Energy at PURA.
The visit accorded the delegation the opportunity to brief the president about some of the landmark progresses registered in the region.
The closed-door meeting highlighted key resolutions made at the just concluded Banjul Forum with a view to ensuring a well-regulated, stable and reliable electricity supply in the region.
Speaking to the press following the meeting, Paquena Augusto, Minister of Energy of Guinea Bissau, thanked the Gambia Government for hosting "the most successful and well-attended forum".
He enjoined member states to harness the knowledge and experiences shared during the forum for improved cooperation and partnerships to deal with the electricity challenges in the ECOWAS region.
ERERA Chairman Laurent Kocou Rodrigue Tossou said they intend to launch the second phase of the regional electricity market. This, he stated, aims to cover supply connections from Nigeria to The Gambia.
Honorable Abdoulie Jobe, Minister of Energy for The Gambia, said President Barrow believes electricity should be available, affordable and reliable for public consumption.
Minister Jobe expressed optimism that such regional convergence will go a long way towards addressing the energy insecurity in the sub-region.
Yusupha M. Jobe, Director-General of PURA, said the just concluded regional forum was a huge success hence thanked all players, especially the Government of The Gambia for the support and representation at the forum.
