The event is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. and is expected to draw supporters, political stakeholders and members of the public.
The Coalition said the gathering is intended to demonstrate its commitment to political unity, democratic participation and what it described as national renewal.
The formation and official launch of the NUP/UNITE Alliance comes as political parties and alliances continue to position themselves ahead of the 2026 presidential election.
In its announcement, the Coalition called on members of the public to attend the rally, describing it as a “historic occasion” that would underscore the collective commitment of its members and supporters to unity and democracy.
“The Coalition 2026 wishes to formally inform the public of the Grand Unity Rally, which will also serve as the official launch of the NUP/UNITE Alliance,” the Secretariat stated.
It added that the occasion would mark “a significant milestone in our coming together as a strong and united force, dedicated to the advancement of our nation ahead of the December 5th presidential election.”
The Coalition further extended an invitation to the public to grace the event with their presence, saying participation would demonstrate support for its stated objectives of unity, democracy and national renewal.
The rally at the Brikama SSP Grounds is therefore expected to provide the alliance with an opportunity to publicly present its political partnership and rally support as the electoral season gathers momentum.
The December 5, 2026 presidential election will be a major political contest, with parties and political groupings expected to intensify mobilisation and engagement with voters in the months leading to the polls.
The Coalition 2026 Secretariat issued the announcement through its official communication, inviting Gambians to attend the Sunday gathering.
The event will commence at 4 p.m. at the Brikama SSP Grounds.
