The Association of Public and Environmental Health Officers (APEHOG), under the Ministry of Health has vowed to go ahead with their planned protest tomorrow 6th of April 2022 after talks between the ministry and the association’s executive failed to provide any consensus.

The Association of Public and Environmental Health Officers are demanding inclusion in the new allowances scheme of the Health Ministry.

Musa Nget, the vice president of the Association who was contacted for comments confirmed the development to The Point, further claiming that “The protest will continue until and unless their demands are met by the Ministry of Health. Part of their demands is to include them in the allowances schemes provided for some cadres within the ministry.

“I can confirm that we had a meeting with the permanent secretary at the Ministry of Health including some senior government officials on Tuesday, but we couldn’t reach a consensus amid the allowances exclusion. Therefore, we are going ahead with our strike nationwide effective tomorrow Wednesday,” he told our reporter in an interview.
