Police receive K-9 canine-companion dogs

The Gambia Police Force received eight (8) K-9 dogs on Tuesday, February 12, 2024, that have completed the first phase of their training with their handlers for the establishment of the K-9 Unit within the Police Intervention Unit in a ceremony at the PIU grounds in Kanifing.

These highly trained canine companions will play a crucial role in detecting illicit substances, apprehending suspects, and conducting search and rescue operations.

With the introduction of specially trained K-9 dogs, the Gambia Police Force demonstrates a commitment to adopting modern and effective policing strategies.
