France is set to host the 23rd International Congress of Nutrition (ICN) of the International Union of Nutritional Sciences (IUNS) from 24 to 29 August 2025 in the French capital, Paris. The theme for this year is ‘Sustainable Food for Global Health’.

The International Congress of Nutrition (ICN) is one of the most prominent events of the International Union of Nutritional Sciences (IUNS) which is held in every four years.

This great global congress looks forward to addressing all fundamental, clinical, epidemiological and social aspects of nutrition delivered in the form of lectures, symposia, oral communications and posters.

The congress aims to feature eight major scientific topics which include the future of nutrition recommendations, climate change, sustainability & nutrition, food science, gastronomy & life quality, global health & planetary nutrition and public health & nutrition throughout the life cycle.

Other features include other perspectives, such as non-communicable diseases, precision & clinical nutrition and basic research in nutrition.

To ensure a successful international event for everybody, all continents are evenly represented, and members across different nations, regions and continents are currently working together on the Organizing Committee and the Scientific Committee.

In a statement delivered on behalf of the French Society of Nutrition (SFN), French Federation of Nutrition (FFN), Federation of European Nutrition Societies (FENS) and of International Union of Nutritional Sciences (IUNS) ahead of the congress, Professor Jacques Delarue, President of the French Society of Nutrition (SFN) and chair of the IUNS-ICN Paris 2025 announced his delights towards the most anticipating congress.

“I am delighted to welcome you in Paris to participate in the 23rd International Congress of Nutrition of IUNS, which will be held at Palais des Congrès on 24-29 August 2025,” he said.

He spoke with assurance saying: “We have ensured that all continents are represented, both on the Organizing Committee and on the Scientific Committee, so that all the national, regional and continental specificities of nutrition can be expressed.”

He advanced that they have made a special effort to make it easier for colleagues and young researchers from LMICs to attend, adding that within the Palais des Congrès, they have set aside a large networking area where delegates will have the opportunity to exchange ideas in a comfortable setting.

In a similar global development, France has also successfully hosted the recent Nutrition for Growth (N4G) Paris 2025 Summit held on 27 and 28 March in Paris where delegates from across the world gathered and discussed ways of fighting malnutrition.

The N4G Summit ended with the formal announcement of its mobilization of over $US27 million dollars to respond to nutrition-related sustainable development goals.
