The National Council for Civic Education (NCCE), Catholic Relief Services (CRS) The Gambia and the National Youth Council (NYC) have officially signed a Project Agreement Memorandum to implement the Harmony, Outreach, Peace, and Engagement (HOPE) Project.

As The Gambia prepares for the December 5, 2026 polls, the HOPE Project will play a critical step in ensuring vibrant democratic participation, enhanced civic awareness, strengthened social cohesion and democratic resilience in The Gambia.

Alh. Sering Fye, Chairman of NCCE, commended CRS for expanding its impactful work beyond traditional sectors like health, education and agriculture into the vital areas of peace and governance.

He reaffirmed NCCE’s commitment to strategic partnerships and collaborations in the quest to fulfill its constitutional mandate.

Mr Alagie Jarju, Executive Director, National Youth Council (NYC), expressed deep gratitude to CRS for recognising the energy and talent of young people.

He noted that this partnership further consolidates the long-standing working relationship between NCCE and NYC in youth empowerment and peace promotion.

Ms Pamela R. Camara Jackson, CRS Project Officer, expressed her institution’s appreciation for the NCCE's role in consolidating our nascent democracy. She shared CRS's excitement in fulfilling this shared mandate and objective to ensure a stable and informed electorate.

This tripartite partnership brings together the expertise of the NCCE, the reach of the NYC, and the support of CRS to ensure that the "Hope" for a participatory and peaceful electoral process becomes a reality for every Gambian.
