Kah, who worked as an IT Technician and later promoted to IT Manager, resigned in July 2021.
He explained that he requested a 10-day leave for his exams, which was granted by the then-CEO Sainabou Martin-Sonko. He added that he also requested for a 15-day leave, but the director of administration tried to stop him.
“I told him to write whatever opinion he has and forward it to the CEO, who has the final say on whether I should go on leave or not,” he testified.
He said the CEO approved it and told him he could go but would be called when needed. While on leave, he said he got information that his salary was stopped. He added he called the CEO, who informed him that she did not give such instruction.
“From there, I decided to write my resignation letter,” he said.
Kah then wrote a resignation letter, which was not responded to by the Council. He said he was only asked to do a handover after three weeks. He said he had already handed them a handing over note, adding that up to the time of testifying the Council had not replied him.
The Commission noted that he wrote in his written statement that his resignation was triggered by "unethical, unprofessional, and disrespectful administrative lapses”.
