World Eleven, Solifo sail to Semis in Gunjur Nawettan

World Eleven FC and Solifo FC are through to the semi finals in the 2012 Gunjur Nawettan after winning their quarter final ties at the Gunjur Nyamina Football Field.

World Eleven FC booked their ticket to the semi finals following their slender 1-0 win over the reining league champions Gamcel FC in the first quarter final played on Saturday.

Gamcel FC was tipped as the favorite to progress to the semi finals and dominated the ball possession and created numerous goal-scoring opportunities, but squandered their opportunities.

World Eleven FC were defending, relied on counter-attacks and scored through midfielder Bakary Janneh in the 65th minute of the game, which eventually proved to be the winner for World Eleven FC.

Solifo FC progressed to the semi finals after a 2-1 victory over Kulukochi United FC in the second quarter final on Sunday courtesy of Malang Jassey and Ousman Bojang in the 15th and 64th minutes of the game respectively.

The quarter final games continue this weekend, with Commit FC to face NSA FC in the third quarter final on Saturday 20th October 2012, while Nyokoyorr FC will clash with Oxford United FC in the fourth quarter final on Sunday 21st October 2012.
