A woman was yesterday arraigned at a Magistrates' Court in Kanifing for an alleged offence of maltreating a 3-year-old girl.

According to the charge sheet, the accused between August and September 2009, at Old Jeshwang in the
Moris Sanyang, who completely denied the charge, told the court that she is an aunt to the said child, who is said to be in the custody of Social Welfare, pending the outcome of case.
The presiding magistrate, Joseph Ikpala, remanded the accused on a bail of D100, 000.
The case was adjourned to 24th September 2009 for hearing.
