One Muhammad Krubally was yesterday arraigned before Magistrate Abeke of the Kanifing Magistrate’s Court, charged with stealing.
He denied the charge and was granted court bail of D2,000 with one Gambian surety.
According to the particulars of offence read in court, the accused, Muhammad Krubally, in March 2013, at Serrekunda, in the Kanifing Municipality, stole a wheelbarrow valued at D1,500 being the property of one Cherno Touray, thereby committed an offence.
Sgt 1781 Kinteh then stood up and told the court that he was opposing bail for the accused person because if the accused person was given bail, he would commit another offence, adding that the accused was a habitual offender.
In response, the accused denied the prosecution’s assertion telling the court that his intention was to pay the complainant his money, adding that he had already paid some money to the complainant.
Magistrate Abeke refused the prosecution’s application and granted the accused person bail on the above conditions.
The case was then adjourned till 10 June 2013.
