Omar Sise, head coach of the Gambia National U-20 team, has called on Gambian fans to exercise patience to avoid what happened against Mauritania in the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifiers second leg tie at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on 29 March 2016.

Coach Sise was speaking to Pointsports yesterday at the Seaview Garden Hotel in Senegambia, Kololi, ahead of his side’s crucial 2017 African U-20 Youth Championship second round first-leg tie with Morocco on Saturday 21 May 2016, at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

Coach Sise advised Gambian fans to maintain patience and discipline in order to avoid what happened against Mauritania in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at the Independence Stadium, in which The Gambia was fined US$5,000 for the misconduct of their fans for throwing objects on match officials and at the Mauritania bench, which stopped the game for three minutes.

Coach Sise revealed that his team is preparing well for the game against Morocco, adding that twenty-two players are currently in camp for the tie against Morocco.

The coach further said he would reveal the final squad at a pre-match conference before the game on Saturday.

He said his side would come out for a convincing win over Morocco in the first leg come Saturday, adding that they will try to win and make Gambians happy.

He as well called on Gambians to come out in their large numbers to cheer the team in the first leg clash against Morocco.
