Hon. Buba Sanneh, National Assembly member for Kombo Central constituency, has told his fellow deputies that they “are not doing justice to the Gambian people” who elected them to represent them at the National Assembly.
The Kombo Central NAM was speaking recently at the National Assembly Building following the passing of the Elections Act Amendment Bill 2015.
“To my observation, we are not doing justice to ourselves and to the entire Gambian people,” he said, whilst calling on National Assembly members to “be very careful” of bills being passed in the house.
“We might enjoy today, but history will judge us one day,” he added.
The Kombo Central MP also called on all National Assembly members to join him in rejecting the bill for the benefit of the Gambian people.
He said the Gambian National Assembly members could be the poorest in the whole of the sub-region compared to other countries in the region.
“Looking at the population of The Gambia, a lot of people are poor and it is high time for us to think deeply and maturely as representatives of the people,” he said.
