Warrior’s Women Handball team on Tuesday defeated newcomers Armed Forces Club by 22-4 in a friendly encounter at the Independence Stadium in preparation for their international friendly billed for 5 May 2012 against Chess Senegal Friends.
Despite their maiden appearance, Armed Forces played up to expectations but lack of experience affected most of the players.
A few from the team are conversant with the laws of the game and the goal-scoring techniques.
According to Warriors’ coach Haruna, they were training ahead before the start of the league.
He said the friendly match is to test players before their Chess Senegal Friends come on Sunday 5 May.
The final between Warriors and Lion Heart will be held on 28 April 2012 and the league will start on 12 May 2012, Coach Haruna said.
