The All Africa Games (AAG), also known as Pan-African Games which takes place every four years, will mark the 11th edition and its 50th anniversary as well as a return to Brazzaville which hosted the first edition in July 1965.
The 2015 All African Games is scheduled to be held between 4th and 19th September 2015 in Brazzaville, Congo.
According to the GVBF boss, Barry, Gambia volleyball and beach volleyball must give their best and stay absorbed, to outperform all nations in their group and make history to recompense the government, other funders as well as Gambia sports fans to regenerate more attention to volleyball.
“Gambians are expecting so much from the team at the approaching All African Games, they want to see the team winning all their games, to convey smiles to their faces” he said.
He noted that though the Gambia volleyball indoor team under the guidance of coach Ebrima Nyass is drawn in the “group of death” with Egypt, Mozambique, hosts Congo Brazzaville, Botswana and Nigeria.
“We must do everything possible to qualify from the group stage. The Gambia would surely be the dark horses in the pool and we will be looking for our first continental silverware at the continents biggest sporting event,” Barry concluded.
