U-17 Assistant Coach Hails New Invited Players

Lamin Sambou, Assistant Coach of the Gambia U-17 team has heaped praises for the contribution of newly invited U-17 players such as Lamin Samateh, Buba Jallow, Mamut Saine, among others, currently training with the two times African champions squad, ahead of the World Cup Championship.

"I am defiantly so far impressed with the performance and contributions of these players. The door is always open to every good player as we are working very hard to strengthen with the squad in time for the World Cup", he stated.

Coach Sambou pointed out that no player is guaranteed of a permanent place in the team, given the fact that the team's selection is always based on the performance of the players.

"We want the new invited players to do better than what their fellow teammates are doing so as to boast the moral of the squad. We are assuring the Gambia's footballing population of the team's possibility of achieving great results in the forthcoming World Cup, to be held in the Federal Republic of Nigeria," he added.

He also reiterated the FA's plan to organise an international friendly matches, both at home and way ahead of the world's biggest football tournament for the U-17.
