Two people, namely Omar Bawo and Mamadi Jallow over the weekend received each D35, 300, after they emerged winners of the Gambia National Lottery jackpot.

Speaking at the handing over ceremony held at the GNL's office in Kanifing, Malick Jones, the Gambia National Lottery media consultant said the rationale behind the presentation is for the GNL to give back to its esteemed customers, without whom he added, GNL will not achieve its desired goals.

He hailed the customers for showing unflinching loyalty to the company since its inception some years back, noting that at GNL everybody is a winner as everyone plays.

"During the World Cup, the GNL paid many of its winners. I urge you all to tide your belts for more jackpots which are on the way coming. The premier league is coming and GNL will pay," Jones said.

For his part, Mai Bah, the Senior Marketing Officer at the Gambia National Lottery commended the winners for patronising GNL, describing them as true and genuine customers.

She reiterated the commitment GNL attaches to poverty alleviation and youth employment, which she noted, tops the company's agenda. "GNL pays its customers on daily basis, regardless of its weekly prizes," she said.

She urged their customers to keep on patronising them, as they will also continue to win life changing prizes. She noted that her company has changed the lives of hundreds of young and old Gambians.

Speaking on behalf of the Managing Director, Amadou Marenah, the Chief Accountant at Gambia National Lottery echoed similar sentiment, urging the winners to wisely use the money. He suggested for them to venture into any lucrative venture business that would yield dividend.

"It's a tradition at the Gambia National Lottery that whenever the jackpot comes down, we have to clear it," Marenah said.

He disclosed that many new products are in the offing, which according to him, will be unbeatable in the market. He commended their customers, and the media for making GNL achieve it dreams.

Both winners expressed gratitude to the Gambia National Lottery.
