FA and Super Cup champions Gamtel FC will rub shoulders with Horoya FC of Guinea Conakry in the second leg of the third round ties of the WAFU Cup club competition billed for tomorrow, 10 September 2011, at the 22nd September Stadium in Conakry.
Gamtel FC’s side, who eliminated Senegalese sides Niary Tally in the first round of the competition in July 2011 on post-match penalty shootout, after a goalless draw in the regulation time at the Independence Stadium in Bakau, to vie for a place in the third round of the competition.
Gamtel FC, who thrashed Horoya FC 3-0 in the first leg of the third round a fortnight, ago need only a draw to progress to the forth round of the competition but a heavy defeat will see them out.
Horoya FC, who were thrashed 3-0 in the first leg, need to beat Gamtel FC by four solid goals to nil to advance to the forth round of the competition but a draw will see the Guinean side out of the competition.
It would be recalled that last year`s WAFU Cup club competition was won by Horoya FC after beating Cassa Sport FC of the Senegalese province of Cassamance.
