Thief convicted

A man called Saikou Sillah was recently convicted and sentenced to a fine of D20, 000 in default to serve six months in prison by the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court.

Saikou Sillah, who was convicted for stealing from a motor vehicle, begged the court for mercy, saying he is a family man.

The charge sheet read that Saikou Sillah on 27 October 2011, at Westfield, in the Kanifing Municipality, stole from a motor vehicle with registration number BJL0185A a black bag containing D75, 525, being the property of one Liu Guanada.
