Swedish/ Gambian open for Gambia call-up

A 21-year-old  Gambian defensive midfielder Tijan Teiwo Thompson, who plays his professional football with a Swedish Second Division side, Täby IS, is highly-rated by the team as an important player with a bright future.

The versatile Gambian youngster, who can play in different roles, such as in the midfield or in a defensive role has already established himself  as a key figure since he joined the Swedish side. Thompson is also known for his shooting qualites, who can deliver his dribbling skills with both legs, and has got an excellent technique.

The natural gifted star player, whose wonderful individual brilliance made him a key figure with the Swedish outfit has played for a host of clubs, such as Rissne, sundbyberg.

Tijan Teiwo Thompson was born on 28th August 1989 in Sweden  to Gambian parents and his mother is Ndey Amie Jeng.

The 21-year-old midfielder, who has never denied his desire to represent The Gambia in future international competitions also expressed his interest to play for the top European clubs in the near future.

Rated just like the Barcelona midfieder Yaya Touray,  Teiwo was approached by Swedish First Divison teams, such as Syrianska and were willing to sign him for 3 years.
