Poise To Release Album
Dembo Jatta, alias Rootsman, a Sweden-based Gambian artist is currently in the country to promote and release his eleven-track album, entitled: "Abuloo." He is also expected to give a helping hand to other musicians in the country.
Speaking at a press briefing at "The New One for The Gambia Bar and Restaurant" in Bakau recently, the Sweden-based artist said his mission in the country is to promote and release his album and also to support some Gambian musicians. In the view of Dembo Jatta there is no money in music but happiness.
He noted that to be a good musician, one needs to learn how to play instruments.
The Sweden-based Gambian artist started his musical career in The Gambia, a time he described as tough, before going to
Dembo Jatta had served in the Gambia National Army for five years before travelling to
Mr. Jatta used the occasion to thank President Jammeh for "taking the country to higher heights" and called on practising musicians to build music here before going to other countries.
