The
Super Nawettan Organising Committee has released the fixtures for the 2016
FiBank-sponsored Super Nawettan.
The
2015 Super Nawettan champions Serrekunda West will clash with Brikama in the
opening game set for Saturday 8 October 20126, at the Independence Stadium in
Bakau at 4.30pm.
Serrekunda
West snatched the 2015 Super Nawettan title following their penalty shootout
win over Sukuta, after their goalless draw in the final game played at the
Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.
The
Westside boys beat Brikama 1-0 in the final game played at the Independence
Stadium in Bakau to grab their first-ever Super Nawettan title in 2013. They
will also be fighting to beat Brikama for the second time to fancy their chances
of reaching the quarterfinal as well as keeping their hopes of retaining their
2015 Super Nawettan crown.
Brikama
will be coming all out for revenge after losing to Serrekunda West 1-0 in the
2013 Super Nawettan final game played at the Independence Stadium, to clinch
the vital three points.
Elsewhere,
on Monday 10 October 2016, Gunjur will play against Brufut in the all-West
Coast Region derby clash at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium.
The
South boys Gunjur defeated Brufut 3-2 in the 2015 Super Nawettan group staged
before losing to eventual champions Serrekunda West on penalties, after their
1-1 draw in the regulation time in the quarterfinal.
The
South boys are bent on beating Brufut for the second time to increase their
chances of qualifying for the quarterfinal as well as to boost their chances of
lifting their first-ever Super Nawettan title.
Brufut
will be striving for revenge against Gunjur after losing to the South boys 3-2
in their final group match in the 2016 Super Nawettan.
