Steve Biko hopes of staying in premier tier suffer another upset

Bakau giant killers Steve Biko’s hopes of staying in the country’s premier league next season have suffered yet another set-back, following their 2-1 defeat to Hawks in the week twenty-one fixtures played at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium on Tuesday.

Steve Biko and Hawks are both struggling in the league table, and they came all-out for a win against each to fancy their chances of remaining in the top tier next season, and caused serious assaults at each other’s goal-mouth.

It was Hawks, who grabbed the vital three points at the expense of the Bakau giant killers, to boost their chances of remaining in the first division next season.

Steve Biko managed to notch in one goal, which eventually proved to be a consolation goal for the Bakau-based outfit, who are battling for survival in the premier league.

Armed Forces beat Samger 1-0 at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium, whilst Bakau United drew goalless with Bakau United at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.

Brikama United are with 30 points in twenty-one games, Armed Forces with 28 points in twenty-one games, Bakau United with 26 points in twenty-one games.

Hawks are with 22 points in twenty-one outings, Steve Biko with 21 points in twenty-one games, while Samger are with 20 points in twenty-one games.
